Payroll & Benefits Specialist - Ville St-Laurent (Office-First)

The Opportunity

Join Psycho Bunny as our Payroll & Benefits Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in our commitment to talent retention. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, you will be responsible for expertly delivering a comprehensive range of integrated pay and benefits services. Your meticulous accuracy ensures a seamless, positive employee experience for all retail and corporate team members across Canada and the USA.

 

Your Daily Adventures

  • Process accurate bi-weekly payroll for 1200+ employees across Canada and the US using UKG, ensuring timely and precise execution of the entire payroll cycle.
  • Execute all required payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting, maintaining data integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare year-end reconciliations and file returns for Canada, encompassing RL-1 summaries, CNESST annual filings, WCB returns for Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and other provincial requirements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all federal, provincial/state, and local payroll tax regulations, as well as Canadian and US labor laws.
  • Manage the end-to-end administration of diverse group benefits programs for Canadian and US employees (e.g., health, dental, vision, LTD, RRSP, 401K, flexible spending plans).
  • Facilitate smooth benefit enrollment for new hires and expertly manage open enrollment periods.
  • Oversee benefit deductions and taxable benefits within the payroll system, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary contact for daily payroll and benefits inquiries, providing prompt and accurate responses within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and business efficiency within the payroll and benefits functions.

 

Your Toolkit

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Post secondary education in a related field
  • NPI designation
  • Advanced level Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas etc)
  • HRIS experience required. Direct experience with UKG preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in French & English 
  • Familiar with benefits systems ( Desjardins, Canada-Life, StoreForce, UHC, Empower)
